At Parowan Gap Farm we strive to keep our farming practices simple and as traditional as possible. We don't use pesticides on our fruits and vegetables. We are conservationists and don't flood our trees with water - every tree is drip irrigated, as is our vegetable garden and greenhouse. We do our best to preserve the soil. Weather plays a major role in our crop production. Parowan is at an approximate elevation of 6,000 feet and that means that our growing season is limited. We deal with what Mother Nature throws at us - such as late spring and early fall freezes, as well as snowstorms. It all adds to the experience of operating a small farm in an ever-changing environment, and means at times that we don't have the crop production that we expected. Some years are excellent production years, some are not as good.
" Life on a farm is a school of patience; you can't hurry the crops or make an ox in two days."

We believe that a small farm should produce not only quality fruits and vegetables but provide a traditional farm experience as well. During the season we display various types of antique farm equipment, an antique 1939 Model B Allis Chalmers Tractor, antique pioneer wagons and a sheep camp. We also provide an honesty fruit stand so that locals may taste and enjoy our fruit and vegetables. The tradition of farming dates back to the begining of time and we just try to provide a little of that tradition as part of our farm experience.
"Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness.”
